ECLAT 2014 - “Thunderstruck” for Yves Beck

Yves Beck, wine critic, editor of WeinWisser: Love at first sight – there is no question at all here, Valais

Mundi has set the bar very high, and the result is convincing. Eclat 2014, a blend of Petite Arvine and Heida (Savagnin Blanc) is a performer in every sense. The bouquet is complex, a perfect marriage of the fruit and the maturing process. Notes of green apple, citrus fruits, peach and coconut with a touch of spices. Elegant minerality marked by flint. The attack is a wonderful alignment of soft fullness, freshness and liveliness. Pleasantly salty notes, a juicy profile, with mineral touches. The body is chewy, especially at the end, in mouth, where you again find citrus and a very positive bitterness. The only slightly negative remark I would make is that the persistent finish is slightly too woody, but the underlying primary resource, to offset and wrap around this, is definitely here. A fine success story. This is a wine with very good aging potential, which should gain one or two points. 2017-2018.
